Nowadays wood decks have become an important part of residential construction. They add versatile living space to a home and require minimum maintenance with less usage of space. For long life of the wood decks penetrating finishes are applied on wood decks that include water repellent preservatives, colored water repellent preservatives and semi transparent stains. This lets you add some color to the wood without hiding its grain or texture. An opaque deck stain can be used to avoid viewing of wood grains. These products can be oil based or latex and more like paints in their pigmentation, they last longer than a semi transparent stain. If you do not want to show the grain or texture of the wood then a porch and deck paint or enamel can be the best way to go.
